Daryoush Mehrjui and his wife, Vahideh Mohammadifar, were found murdered on 14 October 2023, in their villa in Meshkin Dasht, Karaj.Official investigations regarding the perpetrators and motives of these murders have not been publicly disclosed, and further details are not available. Prior to this incident, Vahideh Mohammadifar, a writer and Daryoush Mehrjui’s wife, had informed on her personal social media page about anonymous personal threats and, according to her, threats from a non-Iranian individual with a knife.
