Mehrdad Pahlbod passes away at the age of 101

 

By presenting traditional Persian music, theater, and visual arts to international audiences, he elevated global cultural presence. Pahlbod mentored cultural administrators and artists who later became leaders in global arts institutions, spreading his philosophy of culturally rooted yet internationally engaged art. Even after relocating to Los Angeles, he continued to promote  culture abroad, supporting museums, cultural events, and educational programs.

Many of the institutions, festivals, and artistic programs he initiated continue to inspire cultural preservation efforts and internationally. His memoirs and interviews serve as a vital historical record of pre-revolutionary cultural landscape, offering scholars, artists, and enthusiasts insights into a vibrant period of artistic growth.
