Aziz al soltan, second malijak in Qajar court

In 1894, Aziz al-Soltan’s status was further solidified when he married Akhtar al-Dowleh, one of Naser al-Din Shah’s daughters. This union not only strengthened his position within the royal family but also integrated him more deeply into the political fabric of the Qajar dynasty. Following the Shah’s assassination in 1896, Aziz al-Soltan’s influence waned. He lived the remainder of his life in relative obscurity, passing away in 1940.

His life remains a testament to the complexities of courtly relationships and the intricate dynamics of power within the Qajar dynasty. For those interested in visual representations of Aziz al-Soltan, several photographs and sketches from the era depict his close association with Naser al-Din Shah, offering a glimpse into the royal court’s inner workings during the late 19th century.
