[custom_adv] The book ‘Another Hundred Years’ which contains unpublished poems of the late contemporary Persian poet Nima Yushij (1895-1960) has been recently brought out by the publishing house of Academy of Persian Language and Literature. [custom_adv] The academy purchased a collection of documents belonging to Nima from his son, Sheragim Yushij (currently based in the US), in the 1990s and kept it in its library archive, Mehr News Agency reported. [custom_adv] Three years ago the academy started to research the manuscripts in order to publish them. The process began by providing digital images of the documents and categorizing them based on their topics. [custom_adv] In addition to poetry, most of the so-far unpublished manuscripts include stories and plays, as well as reflections on art and literature, memoirs and notes on Nima’s everyday life. [custom_adv] War, poverty, tyranny, love and nature are among the issues Nima has written about in his poems in the newly published book, compiled and edited by literature experts Saeed Rezvani and Mehdi Olyai-Moqaddam. [custom_adv] Nimā Yushij (11 November 1897 – 4 January 1960) was a Persian poet. He is famous for his style of poetry which he popularized, called she'r-e now , also known as She'r-e Nimaa'i ("Nima poetry") in his honour after his death. He is considered as the father of modern Persian poetry.
