Celebration of appreciation from the national football team in 1357

Argentina, the Netherlands, and Brazil were the gold, silver, and bronze medalists, respectively. Tunisia made their first appearances in the tournament. The roots of football stretch back over 2,000 years. Ancient civilizations such as China, Greece, and Rome played games involving kicking a ball. However, the modern form of football originated in England in the mid-19th century, when schools and clubs began standardizing the rules. In 1863, the Football Association (FA) was founded in London, establishing official rules and separating football from rugby.

Over time, the sport spread rapidly across Europe, South America, and beyond — largely thanks to British influence and international enthusiasm. By 1904, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) was established to oversee global competitions. Today, FIFA governs international football and organizes the FIFA World Cup, the most watched sporting event in the world.
