About Masoud Kimiaei’s wives

In 1979, Islamic Revolution put an end to her singing career. Women were forbidden to sing in public. Later on, she composed many soundtracks for movies after the revolution in 1979. As a composer, most of the time she worked with her husband Masoud Kimiai, a film director, whom she married in 1969.  Kimiai directed her in The Deer and other projects, creating a unique synergy between cinematic storytelling and music.

The singer and musician, who was also one of his spouses, worked closely on the soundtracks for his films. Kimiai often partnered with writers like Mohammad-Reza Aslani and cinematographers skilled in blending realism with poetic imagery, giving his films a distinctive visual and narrative rhythm. Even after the Iranian Revolution of 1979, Kimiai continued making films that addressed societal issues while navigating strict censorship.
