Giti married to Masoud Kimiai, a film director, in 1969. In the late 1980s, she moved to Hamburg, Germany, where she researched Western Church and Baroque music. The couple separated in 1991, and have a son Poulad Kimiayi, a pianist, who was born on 14 July in 1980.She died of breast cancer on 7 May 1995. Her songs and compositions are still heard abroad.
Googoosh’s first husband was Mahmoud Ghorbani, a music promoter who had helped Googoosh make a name for herself throughout the 1960s. Googoosh and Ghorbani married in February 1967. They had a son, Kambiz.After about six years of marriage, Ghorbani and Googoosh divorced in late 1972. In 1975, Googoosh married actor Behrouz Vossoughi; they divorced fourteen months later in 1976.
