Heshmat Tabarzadi who is a democratic activist

Amnesty International considers Tabarzadi a prisoner of conscience, and has repeatedly called for his immediate release. Tabarzadi is regarded as one of the most persistent voices of dissent in recent history. His activism connects student movements of the post-revolutionary years with later struggles for democracy and reform.

Even while in prison, his statements and writings have circulated through supporters and international networks, reinforcing his reputation as a symbol of resistance to political repression. Heshmatollah Tabarzadi is currently imprisoned, continuing to serve time for his activism and refusal to be silenced. His case is frequently cited by human rights defenders as part of the broader pattern of suppression of free speech and political opposition in the country.
