The Polish Fortnightly Review based a story on it, writing that “three crematorium furnaces were insufficient to cope with the bodies being cremated”, as did The Scotsman on 8 January 1942, the only British news organization to do so. Fleming writes that it has not been possible to track Pilecki’s early intelligence from the camp.
