In 2016, Haley received extensive press coverage for saying the phrase “bless your heart” in response to an attack by then-presidential candidate Donald Trump. Trump had attacked her on Twitter for her call for him to release his tax records.Haley was critical of Trump during the election, and was a supporter of Florida senator and candidate Marco Rubio. She stated on Trump in 2016:”I will not stop until we fight a man that chooses not to disavow the KKK. That is not a part of our party. That’s not who we want as president. We will not allow that in our country!”
