His grandfather was a Shia cleric, and his father, Seyyed Muhammad Ali Najafi Kermanshahi, was a Quran reciter who had a pleasant voice and used to read in religious gatherings. Jamal’s father was the first reciter whose Quran was broadcast on the radio, and his name was announced on “Najafi Kermanshahi” radio.
