Emami had his religious education in Najaf and his university education in Switzerland. After the death of his uncle, Seyyed Mohammad Imamzadeh, in 1324, he assumed the position of Friday imam in capital and held it until the revolution of 1357. In 1331, Hassan Emami entered the parliament as an opponent of the National Front government in the controversial elections of the 17th parliament. He also became the chairman of the National Council for a short period (July 10–30), But after the events of July 30, he resigned from the presidency and did not participate in the meetings of the parliament.
