He was one of the clerics who signed the declaration of the Mojahedin’s impurity after announcing the organization’s ideology change. At the peak of the 1357 revolution, he was released along with some other political prisoners, went to Paris, and returned home with Khomeini. His photo can be seen next to him in the famous picture of Khomeini getting off the plane. In Shahrivar 1358, by Khomeini’s decree, Lahoti was assigned to participate in the meetings of the IRGC Supreme Council. Many high-ranking clerics were concerned about his connection with the People’s Mojahedin Khalq organization and called him a sentimental person.
