The funeral of the mother of Persian cinema

In 1344, she played the role of mother in the play “Pehlan Akbar Mimird” in the hall of Bisty-Panj Shahrivar. In an interview, she stated that since she was the first Persian woman to wear a hijab on the stage of the theater, she chose the surname “Chereh Azad” for herself.  In 1341, Ruqiyeh Shireh Azad received an honorary diploma from the Association of Theater Lovers on the occasion of World Theater Day.
