He returned to Iran after receiving a doctorate degree in psychology from Heidelberg University, Germany, and started teaching psychology at this newly established university at the invitation of Dr. Ali Sheikhul Islam, the founder of the National University of Homeland (now Shahid Beheshti University). In this way, she became the first female professor at the National University of Homeland. At the invitation of Ashraf Pahlavi, Simin Rejali was appointed as the Secretary General of the Persian Women’s Organization in 1348, and there he tried to set up the first family welfare centers in all of Homeland based on the model that the United Nations encouraged.
Redjali’s early education took place in Tehran, where she quickly distinguished herself academically. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education and Philosophy from the University of Tehran in 1955. Driven by a passion for psychology and pedagogy, she traveled to Germany to continue her studies at the University of Heidelberg, where she completed her PhD in Educational and Clinical Psychology in 1961. Her doctoral work focused on child development and learning psychology, areas that would later define her professional focus. Following her doctorate, she undertook postdoctoral research in London, studying educational systems and welfare policies, experiences that deeply influenced her later reforms.
