Mohammad Atrianfar says about Akbar Gudarzi, the leader of this group: “He was a young student who had some historical frustrations, and it was because of these frustrations that he later took charge of leading such actions. Godarzi was not more than twenty years old in 1958, and yet he was engaged in interpreting the Qur’an, introduced himself as an interpreter of the Qur’an, presented a revolutionary interpretation of the Qur’an, and selected verses from the Qur’an that would be useful in the struggle.
