When the national team was returning from Seoul, a letter was signed by 14 players, which became a news bomb after arriving at Mehrabad airport. The resignation of 14 players from the national team was the most controversial football event of the 1960s. Dehdari formed a new national team with unknown youths, some of whom became big football stars, from Ahmadreza Abedzadeh and Mojtabi Moharrami to Javad Zarincheh and Samad Murfawi.
