Pour-Mohammadi pursued extensive education in Islamic jurisprudence, principles of jurisprudence, and philosophy. He studied at the prestigious Haqqani seminary in Qom, which is known for producing influential clerics and politicians. He furthered his education in extra-jurisprudence and principles in Mashhad, Qom, and Tehran, ultimately obtaining a level four jurisprudence and Islamic law degree, equivalent to a PhD.Pour-Mohammadi began his career in the judiciary as a prosecutor for the Revolutionary Court in various cities, including Bandar Abbas, Kermanshah, and Mashhad, from 1979 to 1986. His role involved overseeing legal cases related to the Islamic Revolution, which were often politically sensitive.
In 1986, he served as the prosecutor of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Court in the western regions of Iran. This position placed him in a critical role within the military judiciary, dealing with cases involving the armed forces.Pour-Mohammadi’s significant political rise began when he was appointed deputy intelligence minister in 1987 under the then intelligence minister Hojjatoleslam Ali Fallahian. During this period, he was also the director of the ministry’s counterintelligence directorate.
