Voting and Election Process
Electronic Voting Initiatives: The election headquarters announced its readiness to implement electronic voting in major cities, including Tehran. However, this initiative required approval from the Guardian Council. Ultimately, all voting was conducted on paper, with electronic identification being used to verify voter identities.
Voting Day Logistics: Voting took place on July 8, 1403, from 8:00 AM across all branches inside and outside Iran. Individuals born on or before July 8, 1385, were eligible to vote. Inside the country, voters could use a national card or birth certificate, while abroad, a passport was required for identity verification.
Potential Runoff: If no candidate received an absolute majority of votes in the first round, the top two candidates with the most votes would proceed to a second round. This mechanism ensures that the elected president has a broad mandate from the electorate.
