Candidate Registration and Initial Voting
Registration Period: The registration of candidates for the presidential election was conducted over five days, from June 10 to June 14. During this period, 287 individuals registered at the Ministry of Interior. Out of these, 80 candidates met the initial conditions required for further qualification review by the Guardian Council.
First Round of Voting: The first round of the presidential election saw a participation rate of 40% of eligible voters. The key candidates in this round included Masoud Bishidian, who garnered 10,415,000 votes (42.45%), and Saeed Jalili, who received 9,473,000 votes (38.61%). Other candidates like Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Mustafa Pourmohammadi also participated but did not secure enough votes to influence the outcome significantly. As no candidate achieved the required majority of over 50%, the election proceeded to a second round.
