Personal Life
Emel Sayın’s personal life has been as eventful as her professional career. She has been married three times. Her first marriage was to İsmet Kasapoğlu in 1966. The couple divorced in 1975 but remarried a year later. Unfortunately, their marriage ended again in 1979. From June 1979 to September 1981, she was married to Selçuk Aslan. Her third and final marriage was to David Younnes, whom she married in 1986 and divorced in 1999.

Emel Sayın’s contributions to Turkish music and cinema have not gone unnoticed. In 1998, she received the prestigious title of State Artist, an honor bestowed upon individuals who have made significant contributions to the arts in Turkey.
