Hall number one of the Olympic and Paralympic Academy of Homeland is named after “the late unknown fighter Haj Mohammad Mehrayin.” When he died in 2017, the leader of the Islamic Republic called him “one of the old fighters, loyal elements, and servants of the revolution” in his condolence message, and Mojtaba Khamenei, the second son of Ayatollah Khamenei, was also present at his funeral. In 1395, two years before his death, a ceremony was held in the National Library for “Commemoration of the Brave Sports and History of the Revolution” with the title “Mehr Ayin Ritual.” He was the first head of the Martial Sports Federation in the Islamic Republic, and in this position he took the place of Shahriar Shafiq, the second son of Ashraf Pahlavi, a navy captain and taekwondo player, and the last head of this federation during the Pahlavi regime. But on the other hand, in 1350, Mehrayin was one of the people involved in the conspiracy to kidnap Shahram Pahlavinia, Shahriar Shafiq’s older brother. Although the armed operation was unsuccessful, it left one dead, one wounded, and finally a number of executions.
