Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi

Born on October 26, 1919, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was the last Shah of Iran, ruling from 1941 until his overthrow in 1979. His reign was marked by efforts to modernize Iran and establish it as a regional power. However, his close ties with Western powers and authoritarian style of governance led to significant domestic opposition, culminating in the Iranian Revolution.

Queen Soraya Esfandiary-Bakhtiary

Queen Soraya, born on June 22, 1932, in Isfahan, Iran, was the second wife of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Her marriage to the Shah in 1951 was a major social event and she quickly became a prominent figure in Iran and internationally. Despite her popularity, her inability to produce an heir led to her divorce from the Shah in 1958, shortly after the visit to Spain.
