A pilot who did not carry out a specific military order

Legacy of Martyrdom and Leadership
Sohilian’s death was a significant loss to the Iranian military, but his legacy lived on. His bravery and leadership in battle became a source of inspiration for his fellow soldiers and pilots. His close companion, Pilot Shiroudi, who had fought alongside Sohilian in many battles, was deeply affected by his death. Just seven days after Sohilian’s martyrdom, Shiroudi himself was killed in the same region, marking a poignant chapter in the story of Iran’s defense during the war.

One of the most notable memories of Sohilian’s service was his role in the liberation of Sarpol Zahab. When the order came from Tehran to evacuate the barracks at Sarpol Zahab and destroy the ammunition stockpile to prevent it from falling into enemy hands, Sohilian made a bold and fateful decision. He refused to abandon the base, declaring that no one was allowed to remove a helicopter from the barracks.
