Masoud Ansari: In David Frost’s interview with the Shah in Panama, the Shah stated that he could not accept that this revolution was planned by Mr. Khomeini. People believe that Mr. Reza Qutbi was an agent of “KGB” and they managed the plan to overthrow the Shah. I cannot accept that Mr. Qutbi is a “KGB” agent, but he was strongly left-wing and acted on the basis of opinion and not on the basis of servitude, but in practice he pursued the same goal.
Farah Pahlavi and his friends thought that the Shah and those around him were cruel, corrupt and thieves, they did not know Iran. The Shiraz art festival itself was a clear proof of his knowledge of Iran and Iranian society. They did not consider religious people and did not think about the fall of the imperial government.
At first, Farah Khanum’s group wanted to remove power from Shah’s trusted people and replace them with Farah Khanum. In the four years before the revolution, Farah Khanum and her friends believed that Farah was loved and the king was hated. Considering the strong emotional relationship between Farah Khanum and Javadi, and also considering the conditions of the country where the fire of the revolution was burning every day, can it be considered that they want to maintain the royal system without the presence of the king? The reason for this request can be all of the following, one or a combination of them. 1- Preservation of Reza Pahlavi’s reign 2- Farah Khanum’s strong interest in Mr. Javadi 3- Farah Khanum’s revenge on the Shah because of the issue of Gilda Sufi (Shah’s mistress) and others
