According to Mojtahedzadeh, on the day when the leadership of the Shahid Moghiseh branch was to change, the infiltrator seized the moment to assassinate two key figures within the system: the outgoing and incoming branch heads, Shahid Razini and Shahid Moghiseh. The perpetrator did not stop there; his ultimate goal was to target another esteemed judge known for his resolute stance against the MKO. However, before he could execute further attacks, security forces intervened. Trapped and realizing his imminent capture, the infiltrator took his own life, unwilling to be apprehended alive.
Mojtahedzadeh emphasized that such infiltrations and audacious attacks demonstrate the unwavering hostility of Iran’s adversaries, particularly the United States and its allies. He noted that the sanctions imposed on Shahid Mohammad Moghiseh by the U.S. Treasury Department since 2019 and by the Canadian Foreign Ministry since 2023 reflect a broader campaign against Iran’s judicial figures. Additionally, he recalled the failed assassination attempt on Shahid Ali Razini by the Hojjatiya Association in 1998, which inflicted severe injuries that ultimately led to his martyrdom years later.
