How did you prepare for the role?
My preparation involved thorough research and immersion. I studied Mirza’s life, read historical accounts, and spoke with people who were familiar with his legacy. I also visited locations significant to his life, such as his birthplace and the areas where he led his resistance. These visits weren’t just about gathering information; they were about connecting with his essence.
Life in Sweden and Hopes for the Future
You’ve been living in Sweden for many years now. How has this experience shaped you?
Living in Sweden has been a mixed journey. On one hand, it’s given me a sense of stability and the freedom to explore different aspects of life and art. On the other hand, being away from Iran and its vibrant cinematic culture has been challenging. I’ve worked on a few projects here, but my heart remains tied to Iranian cinema.
Are you considering a return to Iranian cinema?
Yes, I am. I’ve received a few acting offers from Iran, and I’m carefully considering them. My hope is to find a role that resonates with me and allows me to reconnect with Iranian audiences. Returning to cinema after such a long time is a significant decision, and I want it to be meaningful.
