Sculpting and Later Works

Before the revolution, Karimi had created around 60 sculptures. After being banned from working in cinema, he dedicated more time to sculpting, producing over 500 statues and figurines. He held ten exhibitions, showcasing his work to the public.

Later in life, he turned his creative efforts towards writing and making cultural advertisements for television. His short films addressed social issues such as air pollution, water conservation, and family planning.

Beyond his artistic contributions, Karimi also ventured into commercial cactus cultivation. He published screenplays of his earlier works, including The Chariot Driver, preserving his creative legacy.

Documentary Films and Recognition

Nosratollah Karimi was the subject of several documentary films, including:

  • Faces (1994), directed by Nasser Zeraati
  • Black, Green, White (2004), directed by Mehrdad Sheikhan
  • Nosrat Karimi (2005), directed by Alaa Mohseni

A six-part documentary titled Nosrat Karimi; Being an Artist in Iran was released online, chronicling his life and struggles. The documentary, which took 19 years to complete, was a collaborative effort by his son Babak Karimi, a cinematographer and actor, his son-in-law Mehrdad Oskouei, a documentary filmmaker, and Ruhollah Ansari, an editor.
