Sara Sadat Khadem-e-Shari’ah, born on March 10, 1975, is a chess player who made history by becoming the first female International Master (IM) from Iran at the age of 18. Additionally, she earned the prestigious Women’s Grandmaster (WGM) title at the 84th World Chess Congress, an accolade previously achieved only by male Iranian players. As of July 2023, she officially transferred her chess federation from Iran to Spain, choosing to compete under the Spanish flag. By June 2023, she was ranked ninth among Iranian chess players, a testament to her consistent performance in the field.
