On Thursday, February 8, 2024 (18 Bahman 1403 in the Persian calendar), the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy officially added the “Shahid Bahman Bagheri” drone carrier to its combat fleet in the Persian Gulf. The unveiling ceremony took place in the presence of several high-ranking Iranian military officials, including Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces; Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, Minister of Defense and Support of the Armed Forces; and Major General Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC. The commissioning of this advanced drone carrier marks a significant step in Iran’s naval and aerial capabilities, reinforcing the strategic role of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in modern maritime warfare.
