Marriage and Children

Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini married the daughter of Seyyed Mohammad Bagher Sultani Tabatabaei on October 1, 1969. The result of this marriage was three sons: Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, Seyyed Yasser Khomeini, and Seyyed Ali Khomeini, all of whom are clerics.

Presence in Iraq

During Ruhollah Khomeini’s exile, Ahmad Khomeini spent most of his life in Qom and Lebanon. He occasionally went to Iraq to visit his parents. His passport and travel permit were issued through the mediation of Amir Abbas Hoveida.

At the beginning of Ruhollah Khomeini’s exile, he illegally crossed the border to visit his father in Iraq, which aroused the sensitivity of SAVAK. One of the letters from SAVAK regarding his presence in Iraq in 1965 and his meeting with his father states:

“19/8/1965 – Top Secret

To: Directorate of General Police (Intelligence Department)

Regarding: Ahmad Mostafavi Khomeini, son of Ruhollah

Please order that if the above-mentioned person requests the issuance or renewal of a passport and exit permit, he should notify this organization before taking any action.

From the Head of the National Intelligence and Security Organization. Lieutenant General Nasiri.”

There are several similar circulars and instructions from the Chief of the SAVAK, the Third and Ninth Departments, and the Qom City SAVAK, regarding the Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini case.
