Foreign media report on a female truck driver in Capital

Breaking Stereotypes: The Inspiring Journey of Fereshte Soltani, Iran’s Female Truck Driver

In a field dominated by men, Fereshte Soltani stands as a symbol of perseverance, challenging gender norms and social expectations in Iran’s trucking industry. Six years ago, she obtained her heavy vehicle driving license, and today, she navigates the streets of Tehran as one of the very few female truck drivers in the country. Her journey has been filled with obstacles, but her unwavering determination has set her apart as a trailblazer.

The Road Less Traveled

According to Fararou, Turkey’s Anadolu Agency reported that women are almost non-existent in the trucking industry in Iran. However, Soltani has embraced the challenge and defied social conventions. She is not only a professional driver but also a mother of two who has refused to let societal barriers define her career choices.

Soltani’s introduction to the trucking world came through her husband, a truck driver himself. “My husband was a truck driver, and sometimes I would go on business trips with him for fun,” she shared. Over time, what started as mere companionship turned into a deep-seated passion. Motivated by her growing interest, she decided to pursue a career in trucking seriously.
