Aref’s wife and son attend Mazandaran Economic Meeting

Mohammad Reza Aref remains an influential figure in Iran, bridging the gap between scientific innovation and political leadership. His work in engineering, education, and governance continues to shape Iran’s future, making him a notable figure in the country’s modern history.

His wife, Hamidah Murouj, was born in 1956 in Yazd. Mohammad Reza Aref was also one of the candidates who, along with his wife, attended the Ministry of Interior’s election headquarters to register for the Iranian presidential election (2013). Hamidah Murouj is a dermatologist and hair specialist. Before the revolution, she was a member of the Islamic Students Association in Shiraz.[67] She currently works as a faculty member, associate professor, and board member of the Laser Research Center at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. She is a well-known name among specialists in this field as the first innovator of “reconstructive skin.”[68][69] Before the revolution, when Aref was active as the secretary of the Islamic Association of Iran in the United States, he wrote a letter to Iranian associations asking them to introduce a girl to him for marriage. Following this letter, Hamidah Murouj, who was 21 at the time, was introduced to him and they married. The marriage of Mohammad Reza Aref and Hamideh Murouj has three sons.
