Kim Kardashian graduates law school

An Advocate in Action

Long before finishing her apprenticeship, Kardashian was already a force in criminal justice reform. She co-founded the REFORM Alliance alongside rapper Meek Mill and philanthropist Michael Rubin, aiming to reduce the number of people unjustly trapped in the U.S. criminal justice system. She has helped fund clemency campaigns, supported legal fees, and spoken before lawmakers about systemic reform.

Her legal advocacy has led to the release of multiple inmates who were serving lengthy sentences for nonviolent offenses. Kim’s efforts go beyond high-profile cases like Johnson’s; she has committed to amplifying unheard voices from marginalized communities, particularly women and people of color who have suffered under punitive drug laws and prosecutorial overreach.

Kardashian’s television projects have also mirrored her real-life pursuits. Her documentary The Justice Project aired on Oxygen in 2020, showcasing her legal efforts and shining a light on the stories of incarcerated individuals whose plights are often ignored by mainstream media. The show received praise for humanizing the justice system and demonstrating Kardashian’s sincerity and commitment.

A Legacy Reimagined

As Kim held her certificate of completion at the ceremony, it was impossible not to reflect on her roots. Among the most poignant elements of the graduation was a photograph she shared of her late father, Robert Kardashian—a respected attorney who gained national attention as part of O.J. Simpson’s defense team in the 1990s. “He would have been so proud,” Kim wrote in a caption. Her father’s influence was profound; she has frequently cited him as one of her inspirations for entering the legal field.
