President Pezhakian began his journey on a deeply symbolic note by paying homage to one of the greatest intellectuals and poets of the Persian-speaking world, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, whose tomb is located in Lahore, Punjab. The solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the mausoleum was attended by Chief Minister of Punjab, Mrs. Nawaz Sharif, the elder statesman Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and a number of provincial and cultural officials.
