Later Years in the United States
Farshchian eventually settled in New Jersey, United States, while continuing to maintain ties to Iran through seasonal visits. Even in his later years, he remained prolific, producing new works and overseeing exhibitions. Living abroad allowed him to engage with diverse audiences and to participate in international art dialogues, further expanding the reach of Persian miniature-inspired painting.
Illness, Death, and Public Reactions
On August 16, 1404, reports emerged from Isfahan municipality that Farshchian had been hospitalized in the United States in serious condition. These were later tempered by statements from Bahman Namormatl, former head of the Academy of Arts, who explained that Farshchian had suffered a fall and contracted pneumonia but was conscious and receiving care at home. Two days later, on the morning of August 18, 1404, Farshchian passed away in the United States.
