Fariba Davoudi Mohajer, a women’s rights activist and journalist, was his ex-wife. She was the editor-in-chief of the Young Journalists Association, a member of the Central Committee of the Iranian Press Freedom Defenders Organization, and a member of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Iran Alumni Organization (Edvar Daftar Tahkim Vahdat). Davoudi was sentenced to four years in prison on April 19, 2007, for participating in the June 12, 2006, protests. Her charges included acting against national security, propaganda against the regime, interviews with foreign media, and spreading lies. She personally chose to wear a chador as her attire, but years later, she revealed her hijab in front of the camera for the first time on the television program Parazit. In 1977, when she was thirteen, Fariba Davoudi Mohajer played the role of an angel in the short film “Three Months of Closure” directed by Shahpour Gharib.
