Parviz Hejazi, pre-revolutionary cinema producer and owner of “Baccarat Cabaret”

Their establishments often competed with one another, yet they shared an underlying goal: to elevate cabaret culture in Tehran, making it both commercially viable and culturally significant. The Hejazi name thus became synonymous with entertainment in the pre-revolutionary era.

Cinema Dreams: Unfinished Projects

In addition to music and cabarets, Parviz Hejazi ventured into film production. By the mid-1970s, he was preparing to produce two films:

  1. “A Tear Falls Tonight” – a melodrama expected to feature well-known singers and actors of the time.

  2. “Kose Junob” – a project believed to be inspired by southern Iranian culture, possibly blending music and folklore into a cinematic narrative.

Unfortunately, both films remained unfinished due to his untimely death in 1976. These incomplete projects symbolize the interrupted trajectory of his career, leaving behind a “what could have been” legacy in Iranian cinema.
