Hajjar completed her secondary education with a focus on mathematics and physics. This academic background, though seemingly distant from the arts, reflects her disciplined, analytical mind—traits that would later enhance her work as both an actress and filmmaker. Her teachers and peers in Mashhad recall her as a bright and determined student who was not afraid to dream beyond conventional expectations, especially for young women in Iran at the time.
Education and Artistic Inclination
Hajjar’s passion for cinema emerged during her teenage years, when Iranian cinema was undergoing a period of renewal. The 1980s and early 1990s saw the rise of Iranian auteurs such as Abbas Kiarostami, Mohsen Makhmalbaf, and Dariush Mehrjui, whose works gained international acclaim. Inspired by this movement, Hajjar decided to pursue film academically.
