Paniz Miryousefi; the first woman to conduct the Tehran Symphony Orchestra

Paniz’s formal education began when she entered the Tehran Conservatory of Music, one of Iran’s most prestigious institutions for classical training. At the Conservatory, she studied under several of the most influential figures in Iranian classical music, including Siavash Zahiraldini and Ebrahim Lotfi, both known for their pedagogical innovations and commitment to shaping the next generation of Iranian musicians.

At the Conservatory, Paniz specialized in the violin—an instrument that would remain central to her artistic identity even as she expanded into composition and conducting. Her dedication was evident in her rapid progress, earning her recognition among both peers and teachers as a disciplined, passionate, and exceptionally talented student.

Seeking to broaden her artistic horizons, Paniz continued her musical education outside Iran.
