Paniz Miryousefi; the first woman to conduct the Tehran Symphony Orchestra

Paniz Feryosefi’s professional career spans performance, teaching, orchestral leadership, and extensive collaboration with some of the most prominent ensembles in Iran and beyond. Her diverse contributions reflect not only her talent but also her dedication to elevating Iranian classical music.

Collaboration with the Tehran Philharmonic Orchestra

Paniz worked closely with the Tehran Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the most active performing ensembles in the country. Her roles included violinist, member of the artistic team, and eventually Executive Director and Concertmaster. These positions reflect the trust placed in her leadership abilities and her deep understanding of orchestral organization.

As Concertmaster, she led the string section, shaped ensemble sound, and played a key role in rehearsals and artistic direction. Her administrative work as Executive Director demonstrated her competence in planning, coordination, and organizational management—skills that later translated into her career as a conductor.

Conductor of the Novak String Quartet

Paniz’s conducting career began with smaller ensembles, including the Novak String Quartet, where she showcased an ability to shape musical interpretation with precision and expressive nuance. Her work with chamber groups allowed her to experiment with conducting styles, explore different repertoires, and refine her communication with musicians.
