Mehdi Kouchakzadeh (born March 1, 1958) is an Iranian conservative politician and a member of the 12th term of the Islamic Consultative Assembly from the Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat, Islamshahr and Pardis constituencies. He also represented the same constituency in the Islamic Consultative Assembly in the seventh, eighth and ninth terms. He is also an associate professor at the Faculty of Agriculture of Tarbiat Modares University, a Jihadist of Jihad Sazandegi, and a Guardsman of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Kouchakzadeh is a member of the Paydari Front. During his term, he was a member of the Education and Research Commission of the Parliament. Kouchakzadeh is a supporter of the Ahmadinejad government in the parliament and an opponent of the reformists and the Green Movement. However, following Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s candidacy for the 2017 presidential election, he criticized him. He was unsuccessful in the 10th term of the Islamic Consultative Assembly elections and came in 164th place.
Kouchakzadeh was born on March 1, 1958 in Yazd. He has three children. Kouchakzadeh’s son-in-law is Meysam Mozaffar, the head of the Tehran Taxi Organization. He is the son of Hossein Mozaffar, the Minister of Education in the first Khatami government, who was elected to the Seventh and Ninth Majles as a conservative and was Ahmadinejad’s representative on the Supervisory Council of the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation. Before this position, Meysam Mozaffar was the head of the Tehran Municipality’s Cultural and Artistic Organization.[5] Meysam Mozaffar was appointed head of the Tehran Taxi Organization by order of Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in October 2012. He replaced Mohammad Ahmadi Bafandeh.
