Birthday celebration of the son of cinema actor Dariush Asadzadeh

The acting academy where Asadzadeh trained was led by Seyyed Ali Nasr and represented the first professional theater school in the country. Closely associated with this institution was the Nasr Theater, a permanent venue dedicated to classical and modern drama. This environment provided Asadzadeh with systematic training in acting, directing, and dramatic literature, grounding him in both local traditions and international theatrical methods.

Not long after beginning his studies, he expanded his activities to include radio drama. He joined the national radio service, performing in radio plays directed by Fazlollah Baygan. At the time, radio was still a relatively new medium, and only a limited number of households owned receivers. Ironically, news of his performances reached his father not through broadcasts but through acquaintances. Upon learning that his son had become a “voice actor,” the father reacted harshly, refusing to allow him into the family home on the grounds that he had become a “singer,” a term used dismissively for performers.

For nearly a month, Asadzadeh lived away from home until relatives intervened and mediated reconciliation. Although his father never fully embraced his artistic career, this episode marked a turning point. Over time, resistance softened into reluctant acceptance, allowing Asadzadeh to pursue his vocation more openly.
