Ashraf Boroujerdi Commemoration Ceremony

A number of distinguished speakers took the podium throughout the event, each offering their personal reflections on Boroujerdi’s life and work. Among the speakers were figures such as Hadi Khaniki and Morteza Nabavi, both of whom had engaged with Boroujerdi’s ideas and had been shaped by his intellectual legacy. Khaniki, a prominent sociologist and political thinker, reflected on the broader context of Boroujerdi’s intellectual contributions, noting that his work helped bridge the gap between traditional Iranian thought and the modernizing forces that were shaping the country in the mid-20th century.

Morteza Nabavi, a well-known journalist and political analyst, also took the opportunity to reflect on the enduring relevance of Boroujerdi’s ideas in the context of contemporary Iranian politics. Nabavi emphasized that while Boroujerdi’s critiques of Western imperialism were rooted in the historical moment of his time, they still offered valuable insights into the global political dynamics of today. He also spoke about the political courage Boroujerdi exhibited in critiquing both the Pahlavi monarchy and Western influence, a sentiment that resonated with many present who viewed the current political struggles of Iran through a similar lens of resistance.
