Morocco under his rule was often seen as a stable ally in North Africa, which helped secure economic and military support. At the same time, he played a mediating role in regional conflicts and maintained relationships with various Arab states.
His reign was not without internal challenges. There were attempted coups against him in the early 1970s, reflecting discontent within parts of the military and political elite. Despite these threats, Hassan II managed to retain control and strengthen his authority. Over time, he became known for his resilience and political maneuvering skills.
