Introduction

Coffee in Tehran is no longer just a drink. It has become a symbol of survival, identity, loneliness, modern urban culture, economic anxiety, and the desperate need for pause in one of the busiest and most emotionally exhausted cities in the Middle East.

In today’s Tehran, the smell of freshly roasted coffee beans drifts through crowded streets, hidden alleyways, old bookstores, art galleries, and modern cafes where exhausted citizens gather to breathe for a few minutes away from inflation, traffic, political pressure, social restrictions, and emotional fatigue.
