Hedieh Tehrani was born and raised in Tehran. Her entry into acting was closely associated with filmmaker Masoud Kimiai, who cast her in the film Sultan. This opportunity marked an important turning point in her life and introduced her to professional Iranian cinema.
Working with an established director such as Kimiai provided Tehrani with an opportunity to develop her acting skills in a demanding cinematic environment. Iranian cinema places considerable emphasis on natural performances, dialogue, atmosphere, and the psychological dimensions of characters. Tehrani’s acting style proved well suited to this tradition.
Her early performances attracted attention from audiences and critics, and she gradually developed a reputation for selecting roles that allowed her to portray strong, complicated, and sometimes emotionally distant characters.
