Future in the Modern World

During fractional distillation, crude oil is heated until many of its components turn into vapor. These vapors enter a distillation tower, where they cool and separate according to their boiling points. Lighter products, such as gasoline and petroleum gases, are collected near the top, while heavier substances remain lower in the tower. The refining process produces many valuable materials, including gasoline, diesel, kerosene, jet fuel, heating oil, lubricants, asphalt, and raw materials for the chemical industry.

Each product has specific properties and uses that make it important for different sectors of the economy. There are several types of crude oil, and they differ in quality, chemical composition, and physical characteristics. Oil is one of the most widely traded commodities in the world. Countries that produce large quantities of petroleum often export it to countries that depend on imports to meet their energy needs. This creates strong economic relationships between oil-producing and oil-consuming nations.
