Who is Mohammad Reza Diani?

From a Small Factory to a Concentrated Power in the Home Appliance Market

The story of the Diani family’s industrial activities and the formation of what is now known as the Entebbe Industrial Group is inseparable from the broader transformations of Iran’s industrial and economic landscape over the past three decades. This path, which began modestly in the early 1990s, has gradually evolved into one of the most influential trajectories in the country’s home appliance industry—an evolution that today is viewed with both admiration and concern.

Early Steps: From Trade to Production

The origins of this complex date back to November 19, 1990, a period when Iran was emerging from the aftermath of the Iran–Iraq War and attempting to rebuild its industrial infrastructure. During those years, many economic actors were still focused on trade, import, and distribution rather than domestic production, largely due to capital constraints, technological limitations, and uncertainty about market stability.

Against this backdrop, the Diani family made a strategic decision that would define their future role in the industrial sector: to move beyond the traditional field of buying and selling and enter the domain of production. This decision led to the establishment of a company named “Hayerasa.” The company’s first product was a gas stove—a basic yet essential household appliance with steady domestic demand.
