14. Mortal Kombat

As a game, Mortal Kombat banked its appeal on being bloody, visceral and just plain nasty. The movie, however, was a sanguine, made-for-children affair with a horrible techno title track and a long-haired Christopher Lambert well passed his sell-by-date. The best thing you can say about Mortal Kombat is that it’s not as bad as the Jean Claude Van Damme movie based on Street Fighter. Or the one based on Dead Or Alive. Or Tekken. Or the second film based on Street Fighter that didn’t have Van Damme in it, and believe it or not, managed to be even worse.
